Our Story
Bjelland Shavings, a family-owned business, was founded in 1980 by Don and Debbie Bjelland. Don and Debbie saw an opportunity in the market for premium wood shavings, especially for farms that required clean, safe bedding for animals. The business took off quickly due to the couple's dedication to quality and customer service. In the 1990's, Bjellands expanded its operations significantly to accommodate the fast-growing business. Entering the 21st century, Bjelland continued to grow, both in terms of market reach and product offerings allowing them to buy Chell Trucking. By this time, Bjelland Shavings had built a reputation not only for quality but for reliability in service. Moving into the present, Bjelland began to prioritize eco-friendly practices by sourcing wood shavings as a by-product from sawmills. Fast forward to 2024, Bjelland joined forces and then bought another trucking company, Luedtke Trucking, to begin diversifying their company offerings with more specialized hauling. From its humbling beginnings in 1980 to the successful present day operation, Bjellands has grown into a well-respected player in the shavings and trucking industry.
